Mineral Water can prevent memory loss in Alzheimer’s

A litre of mineral water a day can prevent cognitive decline in Alzheimer’s patients, according to the latest study by the British Researchers.

Consuming a litre of silicon rich mineral water daily significantly reduced the levels of neurotoxin aluminium in the body. According to the earlier research, the presence of aluminium linked to the plaques and tangles (two kinds of microscopic damage) in the brains of patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

During the study, patients drank one litre of mineral water every day for about 13 weeks and majority of them showed no further signs of cognitive decline. One patient witnessed saw 70 per cent decline in the amount of aluminium and the other three patients showed improvement in their mental health.

Prof Christopher Exley of Keele University who conducted the research stated that the surprising results gave hope to finding new ways to combat the devastating disease. It was found out that drinking silicon rich water remove aluminium from the body. When you drink silicon-rich mineral water, aluminium throughout the body gathers up into the blood and then excretes via urine.
